Our need for God and the needs of others. These situations seem to bring us to our knees in prayer, into His word more frequently and ferverantly, and to a more compassionate and loving relationship with Him and others. More of you oh God, and less of us. May God answer your prayer and ours for your friend and his mother. As we remember your Mom's beauty and grace through her terrible struggle and reflect on her dedicated life to her family may we be reminded of the joy that is only complete in Him our Creator and His son Christ Jesus. Yes, spring is coming, and it is eternal! The pain and suffering of those we love, those that we come in contact with through others, and even our own pain seems to always bring a response that helps us focus on what is important. Also, I think it's amazing that despite all of the differences between many Christian groups, we're almost universally united in this simple and beautiful prayer. While raising an ornery teenager (me) she manged to battle for 6 years before succumbing to its ravages. She gave me everything I needed during that time to be the man I am today. I learned a couple of important things during that time. First, that while the disease is painful and difficult, it hurts the afflicted more to see their loved ones hurt so much because of their disease and the anticipation of loss. And second, one has time to spend with that person, to speak, comfort and be strong. This is a gift. My thoughts and prayers are with your friends in their time of suffering, and to those who continue on carrying the burden of great loss. tw I lost my grandmother to this disease.
