For a few weeks, I’ve been struggling with the word “strategy.” I hear this word used, abused, misused and overused. There are all kinds of uses starting from “product strategy” and “strategic advisors” to “strategizing about a topic” and “strategic sourcing.” I certainly cannot put an end to this nonsense and will instead share my thoughts.

Arrogance is destructive. Pride blinds us so we can no longer differentiate the colors of life. High opinions of one’s own knowledge or importance sometimes are results of success and the assumption that past performance is an indicator of the future. For a few weeks now (after meeting one of my friends for lunch), I have been thinking about the future of the Internet. As already mentioned, I see the Internet eventually becoming an approximation of all human knowledge. However, the issue is that even as the richness of the media around us increases and even as the capture methods improve, we still cannot massively capture and reproduce textures, fragrances, tastes and feelings and emotions in their contexts (video is a poor substitute).
