NPP Leaders hold talks with IMF officials

Executive members of the National People’s Power (NPP) met with he Head of Mission for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Peter Breuer, in Sri Lanka, for a discussion at the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Head Office in Pelawatte, party member Sunil Handunneththi.

Among the notable participants in this meeting were Parliamentarian Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, Sunil Handunneththi (Executive members of the NPP Economic Council), Prof. Anil Jayantha, Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma (Economic Analyst), and Muditha Nanayakkara (Executive Committee member of NPP). 

Peter Breuer, the resident representative of the IMF, was joined by Saravath Jahan and Manavee Abeywickrama from the IMF staff. The NPP has been critical of the government’s dealings with the IMF in the past, and had stressed that a NPP government would only implement proposals which suit the mandate of a Sri Lankan government.
