India is in talks with Sri Lanka to acquire Graphite.
New Delhi is pushing ahead with plans to forge global alliances to secure mineral supplies said a spokesman.

The country has also received offers from the United Arab Emirates to provide critical minerals.
Graphite is a requirement in India since it is used for making batteries.
Work is underway on a partnership with Sri Lanka to secure a graphite block on the island even though private enitities have also been invited to actively participate in the process.

Sri Lankan graphite is considered the purest in the world with 98% carbon content.
India is also talking to other countries like the Republic of Congo,Tanzania and South Africa.
