Gunathilaka assured the public that extensive security arrangements are in place to ensure a safe and peaceful election process. He emphasized that the police, supported by the Special Task Force (STF), will be leading the security operations, with all necessary measures taken to prevent any election-related violence.

The Secretary also highlighted that the armed forces will remain on standby, ready to intervene if required, ensuring the public’s safety. “The tri-forces will be available to support the police in any situation that might arise,” he added. Gunathilaka reassured voters that they could exercise their right to vote without fear, as all necessary precautions have been put in place to handle any potential unrest.
