NPP Candidate Exposes Opponents’ Conspiracy Amid Election Chaos
News Today: NPP Candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake accuses opposition of conspiracy
NPP Candidate, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, has made strong accusations against his political opponents, claiming they are spreading hatred and conspiring against him ahead of the Presidential Election. Dissanayake, confident of his victory, asserts that the opposition is troubled by the NPP’s rise in popularity and is resorting to underhanded tactics to sabotage the party’s progress.
Speaking to reporters, Dissanayake emphasized that the Sri Lankan public has consistently rejected racism and religious extremism, expressing his disappointment in opposition parties for allegedly endorsing these divisive ideologies. He accused certain monks aligned with Sajith Premadasa’s campaign of making controversial remarks, such as suggesting the removal of the national flag and Article Nine of the constitution, which protects Buddhism.
“These people are now reduced to spreading negativity as they see their political influence dwindling. Their distress is evident,” Dissanayake said, adding that opposition parties lack a constructive campaign message.
He further criticized Ranil Wickramasinghe, accusing him of worsening the country’s economic instability due to reckless borrowing during his tenure. Dissanayake expressed confidence in his party’s ability to rebuild the economy and provide a fresh start for Sri Lanka.
In closing, Dissanayake urged his opponents to step aside, allowing the NPP to take the reins and guide the nation towards prosperity.
