Hezbollah Accuses Israel of War Declaration – Tensions Escalate
News Today: Hezbollah Israel conflict declaration of war threatens regional stability, as Nasrallah warns of dire consequences.
In a fiery speech, Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, accused Israel of declaring war after a series of deadly bomb attacks in Lebanon, which Nasrallah claimed “crossed all red lines.” The explosions, reportedly involving Hezbollah’s pagers and radios, killed 37 people and injured 3,000. Nasrallah described the attacks as a major aggression against Lebanon’s sovereignty and vowed “just punishment” for what he called Israel’s war crimes.
While Hezbollah has suffered a significant blow, Nasrallah reaffirmed the group’s commitment to continue fighting, particularly in support of Hamas in Gaza. Despite the defiance, Nasrallah hinted that Hezbollah does not seek further escalation unless Israel ceases its operations in Gaza.
Cross-border fighting between Hezbollah and Israel has escalated over the past 11 months, displacing tens of thousands and killing hundreds, mainly Hezbollah fighters. Israel has yet to confirm its involvement in the recent blasts but is continuing military operations targeting Hezbollah’s capabilities in southern Lebanon. As the conflict intensifies, fears of a full-scale war loom large.
