Special Security Arrangements Ensured for Sri Lanka’s Election 2024

News Today: Special security in place for Sri Lanka’s 2024 Presidential Election

In preparation for the upcoming presidential election, Sri Lanka has put in place a robust security plan across the island. Police Spokesperson DIG & Attorney-at-Law Nihal Talduwa confirmed that approximately 63,000 police officers have been deployed to ensure a smooth and secure voting process. The police force will be stationed at key locations to safeguard the public and maintain order.

In addition to police involvement, the Ministry of Defense has announced the deployment of personnel from the three armed forces to key security points across the country. These armed forces are prepared to provide additional security personnel if required to ensure a safe election day.
