Ex-CID Chief Reveals Shocking Easter Attack Conspiracy Details

News Today: Easter Attack Conspiracy Ex-CID Chief Shani Abeysekera Speaks Out

Former CID Director Shani Abeysekera recently revealed that the Easter attacks were part of a well-orchestrated conspiracy rather than isolated incidents. Abeysekera stated that he was arrested and imprisoned without bail to divert attention from his involvement in the Easter attack investigations. He claimed that fabricated evidence from a firearms case in July 2020 was used to frame him.

Abeysekera expressed hope that justice would prevail under an unbiased National People’s Power (NPP) Government. He and Senior DIG Ravi Seneviratne believe that justice will eventually be served for both themselves and the victims of the Easter attacks. This, he said, is why they support the NPP.

According to Abeysekera, multiple investigations and commissions over the past three years have gathered evidence indicating that the attacks were a well-planned conspiracy. He connected incidents like the killing of two police officers in Vavunathivu in 2018, the destruction of Buddha statues in Mawanella in 2018, and the Easter attacks in 2019, suggesting they were not isolated events.

Experts assert that there are currently seven different probes into the Easter attacks. By linking the evidence from these investigations, a much larger conspiracy could be uncovered. Allegations point to an unauthorized network operating under political and military leadership, pushing secret agendas in Sri Lanka post-Civil War, which ended in 2009.
