The new Cabinet of Ministers under the National People’s Power (NPP) government, led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, was sworn in yesterday at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo. The 21-member Cabinet includes Dr. Harini Amarasuriya as Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education. This marks a significant shift in Sri Lanka’s political landscape, with a focus on progress and inclusivity.
Other notable appointments include Vijitha Herath as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, and K.D. Lalkantha overseeing Agriculture, Livestock, Land, and Irrigation. Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa has taken charge of Health and Mass Media, while Bimal Rathnayake manages Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation.
