Speaking in Parliament, Jayaweera stated that he did not see a major strategically driven idea in the budget and that it appeared conventional rather than revolutionary.

Budget Fails to Deliver a Central Vision

Jayaweera expressed disappointment that the government, which had raised hopes for a major economic transformation, presented a budget lacking originality and innovation. He stated:

“I expected a central idea from this budget, as this government has given so much hope to the people. However, I didn’t see anything revolutionary about it.”

The Sarvajana Balaya leader further stated that he had anticipated a unique approach but found the budget ordinary and uninspiring.
