News Today: The government announces a petrol price reduction, effective from midnight, benefiting motorists and businesses.
The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) announced a revision of petrol prices yesterday at midnight, bringing relief to motorists and businesses. The price adjustment took effect immediately.
As per the new price structure:
-
92-octane petrol was reduced by Rs. 10 per litre, lowering the price from Rs. 309 to Rs. 299.
-
95-octane petrol also saw a Rs. 10 reduction, bringing the new price to Rs. 361, down from Rs. 371.
This move aligns with the government’s ongoing strategy to stabilize fuel prices amid global oil market fluctuations. The reduction is expected to positively impact transportation costs, consumer goods pricing, and overall economic conditions.
