The All Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) reached an all-time high closing at 13,512, reflecting a remarkable gain of 172 points or a 1.29% increase compared to the previous day. This achievement demonstrates renewed investor confidence, with active participation from both retail and institutional investors driving the market forward.

The previous record for ASPI was set on January 19, 2022. Yesterday’s trading session witnessed an impressive turnover surpassing Rs. 5.2 billion, which marks a 48.8% increase compared to the monthly average turnover.

Stocks in the Banking sector and Diversified Financials sector emerged as key contributors to this growth, gaining significant traction among investors. The Banking sector, in particular, showed strong performance after a prolonged period of subdued activity.
