Government Executive Officers Launch Island-wide Trade Union Action Today
Executive-grade officers in government services have initiated a trade union action today, by reporting sick, according to the Joint Committee of All-Island Executive Officers.
H.L.A. Udayasiri, the Chairman of the joint committee, announced that this trade union action is in response to several unmet demands. A key conference, involving executive-grade officers from across the government sector, is scheduled for today.
“Today, executive officers across different government sectors, grouped together under the joint committee, have initiated a trade union action,” Udayasiri stated. This movement encompasses officers from services spanning the entire island as well as those from specific departments. Key departmental representatives, including those from the Proprietorship Service, Education Administration Service, Ayurvedic Medical Service, and Surveying, will gather in Colombo for an important meeting.”
