India-Sri Lanka ETCA Talks Progress: 14th Round Scheduled for March 2024

The upcoming 14th round of talks on the India – Sri Lanka Economic and Trade Cooperation Agreement (ETCA) is set for the first week of March 2024. This follows the 13th round, which took place over ten days starting January 8 in New Delhi, involving detailed deliberations across nine sub-committees. These committees focused on a range of topics including goods trade, service trade, customs procedures, technical barriers, and more, aiming to streamline and enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Additionally, a dedicated sub-committee on dispute resolution and final provisions plans to meet by the end of February in New Delhi. In light of these developments, the Cabinet has reviewed a briefing by the President on the progress and current status of the ETCA discussions, marking a significant step forward in strengthening economic ties between India and Sri Lanka.
