Main Presidential Candidates Fail to Attend Debate

News Today: Presidential Candidates Miss Debate, One Attends

The highly anticipated Presidential Debate organized by the March 12th movement ended in disappointment as several key Presidential candidates failed to attend. The President formally declined the invitation, while NPP candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake informed the organizers of his non-attendance. Opposition leader and Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa initially confirmed his participation but did not show up.

Presidential candidate Namal Rajapakse attended the event but refused to take part in the debate due to the absence of the opposition leader. Only one candidate, Mr. Dilith Jayaweera, honored his commitment and attended the debate after confirming his participation.

The absence of prominent candidates led to frustration among the organizers and attendees, as they were eager to hear from all the major contenders in the upcoming election.
