Save Ceylon Elephants: Join Spa Ceylon for Wellness Run

News Today: Help Save the Majestic Ceylon Elephant Wellness Run

Spa Ceylon, the world’s largest luxury Ayurveda wellness brand, is partnering with the Wildlife & Nature Protection Society (WNPS) to raise awareness about the Human-Elephant Conflict (HEC) in Sri Lanka. This effort is part of the World Elephant Day 2024 celebrations in August.

The events kick off with the ‘Help Save the Majestic Ceylon Elephant Wellness Run’ at 6:30 am on 11th August 2024 from Independence Square, Colombo. The run features 5km and 2km distances, with prizes for the top three runners from Spa Ceylon and WNPS.

Additionally, the ‘Gaja Nana Sahana’ Scholarship Program will be launched to support children who have lost a parent due to HEC. A poster exhibition will highlight elephant conservation issues and WNPS’ efforts.

On World Elephant Day, 12th August 2024, a decorated double-decker bus will tour Fort and Pettah, spreading awareness about HEC and promoting conservation efforts.
