Sri Lanka is set to host the Global Dawoodi Bohra Spiritual Assembly, with full government support ensuring smooth execution of the significant religious event. The assembly, scheduled from June 27 to July 5, 2025, will bring together over 15,000 members of the Dawoodi Bohra Community from India and across the world.

According to the President’s Media Division, Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake has instructed all relevant authorities to offer maximum assistance for organizing the event successfully. These directions were given during a special meeting at the Presidential Secretariat to review logistical and infrastructure needs for the large-scale gathering.

Key venues for the assembly include the Bambalapitiya Bohra Mosque and the Sri Lanka Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC) in Colombo. This spiritual and cultural convention will also highlight Sri Lanka’s capacity to host high-profile international events.

The discussion covered critical logistical elements such as airport facilitation, accommodation, security protocols, and transport infrastructure to manage the influx of international delegates effectively. High-level officials present at the meeting included Secretary to the Foreign Ministry Aruni Ranaraja, Senior Additional Secretary to the President Roshan Gamage, members of the Bohra Community, and other senior officials.

The government’s proactive approach is not only aimed at logistical success but also at promoting religious harmony, cultural unity, and international goodwill. This event marks a strong gesture of interfaith respect and showcases Sri Lanka’s hospitality on a global stage.
