The Postal Department has announced that today has been declared a special day for distributing polling cards for the upcoming 2024 Presidential election. So far, around three million official polling cards have been successfully delivered across the country. The distribution began on September 3rd and will continue until September 14th.

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe emphasized the importance of today, despite being a Sunday, as postal workers aim to deliver polling cards to every household from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Ranasinghe urged citizens to stay home today to receive their polling cards, as signatures will be required upon delivery.

The Postal Department is committed to ensuring that all eligible voters receive their polling cards in time for the upcoming election.
