Jay Shah to Become Youngest ICC Chairman in 2024

Youngest ICC Chairman Jay Shah Announced!

News Today: Youngest ICC Chairman Jay Shah announced as new ICC Chairman

Jay Shah has been officially elected as the youngest International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman. The ICC Board elected him unopposed on August 27, marking a historic moment in international cricket governance. At 35 years old, Shah will assume office on December 1, succeeding Greg Barclay, whose tenure as chairman will conclude on November 30. Barclay, who decided not to seek a third term, served as the Independent ICC Chair since November 2020 and was re-elected in 2022. His decision not to extend his tenure paved the way for Shah to lead the ICC.

Jay Shah’s election as ICC Chairman represents a new era for international cricket, bringing youthful energy and fresh perspectives to the apex cricket body. His experience as the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been marked by significant contributions to Indian cricket, positioning him as a strong candidate to lead global cricket administration.

With Shah stepping into the ICC role, Rohan Jaitley, President of the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), is likely to be appointed as the new Secretary of the BCCI. Jaitley, who has been leading the DDCA for years, is expected to bring his administrative experience to the national level.
