18-Hour Water Cut Due to Urgent Maintenance in Kolonnawa and Surrounding Areas

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB) has announced an 18-hour water cut in multiple areas starting at 9:00 p.m. tonight due to urgent maintenance on a transmission pipeline. The affected areas include the Kolonnawa Urban Council, Kaduwela Municipal Council, and Kotikawatta-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha regions. The water supply will be interrupted from 9:00 p.m. tonight until 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, July 5.

According to the NWS&DB, the temporary suspension is necessary to repair a leak in the transmission pipeline from the Ambatale Water Treatment Plant. Residents in the affected areas are advised to take necessary precautions, such as storing adequate water for drinking and household use. The NWS&DB apologizes for any inconvenience caused and assures that the maintenance work will be carried out as swiftly as possible to restore the water supply.

The 18-hour water cut is part of ongoing efforts to improve and maintain the water supply infrastructure in the region. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about any updates or changes to the schedule via official NWS&DB communications channels.
