ADB Commits to Boosting Sri Lanka’s Economy & Tourism

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has committed to supporting Sri Lanka’s infrastructure, tourism, energy projects, and financial sector. During a meeting between Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and ADB Permanent Representative Takafumi Kadono, it was revealed that ADB will provide financing to enhance several critical sectors of the country.

President Dissanayake learned that the ADB has pledged to help develop tourism, small-scale enterprises, and the energy sector, with particular focus on improving infrastructure. Kadono assured that all current agreements between ADB and Sri Lanka will continue as planned to promote the country’s economic growth.

In a significant move, the ADB also expressed readiness to provide additional resources for the development of the tourism industry, particularly in the northern region, which holds great potential for growth. Kadono also emphasized the ADB’s willingness to extend financial assistance for energy-related projects and small-scale entrepreneurs, which are crucial for sustainable economic progress.
