News Today: Third Term Ends Today for School Holidays

The Ministry of Education has announced that all government-approved Sinhala and Tamil schools will close today, marking the end of the first phase of the third term. School holidays begin immediately, giving students and staff a well-deserved break.

Muslim schools, however, will continue until December 13th, concluding their third term at that time. The second phase of the third term for all schools is scheduled to commence on Thursday, January 2nd, 2025.
