News Today: Learn about the Presidential Task Force’s Clean Sri Lanka Fund initiative promoting sustainable progress.
The Cabinet has approved the establishment of the ‘Clean Sri Lanka Fund’, a visionary initiative aimed at addressing economic, political, social, spiritual, and environmental challenges in Sri Lanka. Cabinet Spokesman and Mass Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayathissa announced the decision during this week’s Cabinet briefing, emphasizing its role in the country’s national progress.
Under the leadership of the Presidential Task Force, the initiative aligns with the government’s vision, “A Prosperous Country, a Beautiful Life,” promoting reconciliation, social development, and environmental sustainability. Proposed by the President, the programme will be implemented through the Presidential Secretariat with funding from the Clean Sri Lanka Fund, established under the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development.
Managed by a Board of Governors, the fund will ensure adequate financial resources to achieve its objectives. This initiative is not only a response to current challenges but also a step toward fostering ethical rejuvenation and creating a cleaner, more sustainable Sri Lanka.
