Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith, the Archbishop of Colombo, has reiterated his confidence in the government’s ongoing investigation into the devastating Easter Sunday bombings. The religious leader expressed optimism that justice will be served for the victims and their families.
In recent interactions with government officials, Cardinal Ranjith has been briefed on the progress of the investigation. He noted that the government appears to be conducting a transparent probe, which is evident from the detailed updates provided to him and other concerned parties.
“We are optimistic that the perpetrators will be brought to book,” the Cardinal emphasized.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, upon assuming office, visited St. Sebastian’s Church in Katuwapitiya to express solidarity with the victims and their families. During the visit, he pledged to launch a fresh investigation into the Easter Sunday attacks, further bolstering hopes for a thorough and impartial probe.
