Constable interdicted for smoking marijuana while on duty

A police constable from the Habaraduwa Police has been interdicted after smoking marijuana while on duty. The Chief Inspector of the Habaraduwa Police Station apprehended the constable and presented the case to the Judicial Medical Officer (JMO) at the Karapitiya Hospital. The JMO’s assessment concluded that the constable had consumed marijuana while on duty. Following the JMO’s report, Galle SP Sanath Amarasinghe interdicted the constable from his duties, Police said.
