Beware of Dengue outbreak.

The National Dengue Control unit has warned of a potential severe Dengue outbreak after the current floods.
The Director of the National Dengue Control Unit Dr. Sudath Samaraweera made this revelation during a special news conference held at the Presidential Media Centre last evening.

He emphasized that dengue disease extends beyond mere health implications, presenting significant economic and social challenges.

Dr. Samaraweera reiterated that the Ministry of Health cannot solely control the spread of Dengue and requires public support.

He concluded that during the last five months of this year, over 25,000 dengue cases and nine dengue-related deaths have been reported.
