Dhammika Perera wants to create 1 million jobs to become Presidential hopeful

Business tycoon Dhammika Perera has expressed his wishes to secure the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) nomination for the 2024 Presidential election. Addressing media in Colombo, Perera said that the SLPP has given him a list of ten conditions, in order to be considered as the party’s presidential candidate. 

“The SLPP has given me a list of conditions for which I’m currently preparing. The conditions include things like creation of one million jobs, preventing the sale of state enterprises and the reduction of taxes,” Perera said.  He added that he is hopeful of completing the tasks assigned to him. “October 12, is the last day for the presidential election. I’m currently preparing myself to meet the party’s conditions. Once that is done, the SLPP will announce the candidate,” Perera said.
