The French Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Jean-François Pactet, has passed away in his official residence in Rajagiriya today (26). Ambassador Pactet was 53 years old at the time of his death.

Born in 1970, Pactet had been serving as the Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka and the Maldives since October 2022.

An on-site magisterial inquiry is scheduled to be conducted regarding the circumstances of his passing.
