News Today: The gas price of Laugfs Gas cylinders increased since yesterday midnight, impacting households and businesses.

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) announced a revision of domestic gas prices yesterday at midnight, impacting households and businesses across Sri Lanka. The price increase applies to Laugfs Gas cylinders, effective immediately.

As per the new pricing structure:

• The 12.5kg domestic Laugfs Gas cylinder has increased by Rs. 420, bringing the new price to Rs. 4,100.

• The 5kg gas cylinder has increased by Rs. 168, now priced at Rs. 1,645.

The price revision is attributed to rising global LPG prices and changes in import costs. While this adjustment may impact household expenses, the government assures that efforts are ongoing to stabilize prices in the future.
