Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Sri Lanka in the first week of April for a three-day official visit. A key highlight of his trip will be the inauguration of the Anuradhapura-Maho railway signaling system, a project funded by India under the Sri Lanka Railways Department.
Modi’s Visit to Anuradhapura
During his visit, Prime Minister Modi will pay homage to the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi, one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Sri Lanka. His presence underscores the longstanding cultural and diplomatic ties between India and Sri Lanka.
A preparatory meeting was held at the Provincial Council Assembly Hall, led by North Central Province Governor Wasantha Jinadasa, to organize security and logistical arrangements for the visit. Upon arrival at the Anuradhapura Airport, Governor Jinadasa will welcome Prime Minister Modi, marking the beginning of his official engagements in the historic city.
