News Today: President Increases Fertilizer Subsidy to Rs. 25,000 for Paddy Farmers

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has directed the Treasury to increase the fertilizer subsidy for paddy farmers in Sri Lanka. Starting from October 1, 2024, the subsidy will rise from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 25,000 per hectare for the 2024/25 Maha season. This decision aims to provide much-needed financial relief to farmers and enhance productivity in the agriculture sector.
