Public Access to Presidential Candidates’ Assets (Check Now)

News Today: Discover the Asset Declarations of All Presidential Candidates

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has now made the asset declarations of all Presidential candidates publicly accessible. These declarations, available on the official CIABOC website, provide insights into the financial status of each candidate. This transparency is in accordance with Section 89 of the Anti-Corruption Act, which mandates Presidential candidates to submit their assets and liabilities statements alongside their nomination papers to the Election Commission.

Following this, the statements were forwarded to CIABOC for further scrutiny. As per Subsection 88(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act, certain non-disclosable information has been removed to ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Nevertheless, the core details regarding the candidates’ assets and liabilities are now open for public view, allowing citizens to make informed decisions during the election process.

Access to these declarations marks a significant step toward promoting transparency and accountability in the electoral process. The public can view the relevant asset and liability declarations at (https://ads.ciaboc.lk). By scrutinizing these financial disclosures, voters can better understand the economic backgrounds of the candidates vying for the Presidency.
