Shutdown Oil Refinery to commence on 8th July.

According to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation the oil refinery at Sapugaskanda has been shut down till July 8th.
The refinery was shut down on 29th May due to a failure in the demineralization plant which is crucial for refinery power generation facilities.

The maintenance has been successful and the restoration of the power system will be completed soon.

Media spokesman S.M.C.P. Samarakoon told Legacy Daily the resumption of the crude unit operation will commence today and other processors will be started subsequently, he said.

The CPC assured the public that there is no need to worry about their fuel requirements, as Ceypetco has sufficient stocks in storage tanks.
