The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), led by MP Harsha De Silva, has expressed its readiness to engage in a live discussion with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as challenged by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. Dr. Harsha De Silva conveyed to Legacy Daily that the SJB is prepared to face this challenge at any time, demonstrating their commitment to open dialogue and transparency regarding the country’s financial situation.

The SJB’s stance was further supported by General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara, who reiterated the party’s willingness to participate in the discussion. This move comes after President Wickremesinghe extended a challenge to SJB leader Sajith Premadasa and National People’s Power (NPP) leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake for a public discussion with the IMF to address Sri Lanka’s economic recovery plans.
