Sri Lanka to Eradicate Crime & Drug Trafficking

News Today: Government to eliminate crime and drug trafficking

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to eliminating organized crime and drug trafficking in Sri Lanka. He made these remarks during a high-level discussion at the Presidential Secretariat with the Western Province Police Chiefs.

Strengthening the Rule of Law

The President emphasized that ensuring the supremacy of the rule of law is crucial for building a just society. He stated that the Police Department has a significant responsibility in maintaining law and order. To enhance law enforcement, the Government plans to introduce new laws that will aid in tackling organized crime and curbing the spread of illegal drugs.
