Sri Lanka Grapples with Surge in Shootings: 30 Incidents, 21 Dead

The Police have announced that Sri Lanka witnessed 30 shooting incidents from January 1 to March 12 this year, resulting in 21 fatalities and 14 injuries.

DIG Nihal Thalduwa, the Police Spokesman, revealed that investigations have unveiled that 17 of these incidents were orchestrated by organized criminal syndicates active within the country.

Additionally, Thalduwa noted that the other 13 shootings stemmed from personal conflicts. (NewsWire)
