Thirty-four political parties and alliances have pledged their support to President Ranil Wickremesinghe by signing the ‘Puluwan Sri Lanka’ agreement ahead of the forthcoming Presidential Election. The signing ceremony, held at the Water’s Edge Hotel in Battaramulla, saw the participation of prominent political figures, including SJB MPs Kumara Welgama and A. H. M. Fowzie, who have also expressed their commitment to ensuring the President’s victory.

The event was graced by the Maha Sangha, who chanted Seth Pirith, and other religious leaders who conducted religious rites, blessing the ceremony. Among the notable signatories were Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Mahinda Amaraweera, Ramesh Pathirana, and Prasanna Ranatunga. Additional support came from representatives of various political entities, such as the New Lanka Freedom Party, United People’s Party, Mutpokku Tamilar Aalaham, and the National Freedom Front.
