News Today: Wennappuwa Police Bust Illegal Motorcycle Parts Operation

In a significant bust, the Wennappuwa Police have arrested a 40-year-old man from Waikkal for possession of illegally imported motorcycle parts. The operation resulted in the seizure of three assembled motorcycles, six motorcycle engines, partially assembled motorcycle frames, and various spare parts, all believed to have been brought into Sri Lanka without the necessary permits.

Authorities acted on intelligence that pointed to the suspect’s involvement in a network trafficking motorcycle parts into the country unlawfully. Upon searching the suspect’s premises, officers discovered the assembled motorcycles along with a trove of engine components and other spare parts, raising concerns about the legality of their origins.
