VAT Hike: CEYPETCO revises fuel prices, Sinopec offers concessions

The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has announced revised fuel prices following the imposition of the Value Added Tax (VAT) from today (January 1). 

Accordingly the revised fuel prices were introduced from 5.00 am today, with a litre of 92 Octane Petrol sold at Rs. 366 and a litre of 95 Petrol Octane sold at Rs. 464. A litre of Lanka Auto Diesel will be sold at Rs. 358 while a litre of Super Diesel will be sold at Rs. 475.

  • Petrol 92 – increased by Rs.20 per litre to Rs.366
  • Octane 95 – increased by Rs.38 to Rs.464
  • Auto Diesel – increased by Rs.29 to Rs.358
  • Super Diesel – increased by Rs.41 to Rs.475

Meanwhile, Sinopec Energy Lanka, Sri Lanka’s newest fuel retailer, has announced a Rs. 3 concession  for 92 Octane Petrol and Auto Diesel, following the CEYPETCO price revision. Sinopec offers a litre of 92 Octane Petrol  at Rs. 363, while Lanka Auto Diesel will be sold at Rs. 355 per litre.
